Uniform

Uniform

There is a school uniform and all children are expected to wear it. The Directors of Learning Academy Partnership (South West) believe that school uniform is important for the following reasons:

  • All children look the same regardless of social background.
  • It encourages a sense of school identity and pride.
  • It helps to develop positive attitudes and behaviour.

The support of parents is very important in this. It is very important that all clothing is clearly labelled as far too much time can be wasted dealing with unnamed items of clothing.

The uniform is:

Boys:

Navy sweatshirt with logos
White polo shirt or white shirt with collar
Grey school trousers or shorts in summer
Grey socks
Black shoes

Girls:

Navy sweatshirt with logos
White polo shirt or white shirt with collar
Grey school skirt/trousers or shorts in summer
Grey pinafore dress
Blue and White checked dress
White socks
Plain grey tights in winter
Black enclosed shoes

PE and Games (boys and girls):

White T-shirt (with logos optional)
Navy shorts
Plimsolls or trainers
Tracksuits are permitted in cold weather
A bag - nothing too large - is needed for keeping this kit in
Please name all items of clothing

Jewellery:

We expect that children wear a minimum of jewellery. However the following is acceptable:

  • A watch
  • A medical alert bracelet
  • No more than one stud in each ear

Artificially brightly coloured or bleached hair is not permitted in school. All long hair must be tied back using school friendly, discrete accessories.

The Academy uniform can be purchased online from Price & Buckland http://www.pbparentsonline.co.uk/learningacademy
