Welcome to The Ellacombe Academy PTFA (Parent,Teacher Friend Association). The aims of the PTFA are to: work with the school to promote a sense of partnership between parents, teachers and the wider community. Provide extra resources to enhance the education of the pupils. Every single parent, carer, Aunt and Uncle, Granny and Grandad is a member of our fabulous PTFA already and very welcome to come along to every event we put on or help out at; and there are so many to choose from! It's at these events that we do lots of fun stuff for the children whilst raising pennies at the same time! As well as our Summer and Christmas Fayres, we provide teas, coffees, hotdogs and cake at events such as Parents Evening and put on school disco's, sports day refreshments and Ice-cream Fridays in the summer. We also run little competitions throughout the school year; there is always something to look forward to with the PTFA!
We all play a big part in parent partnerships within our school and we are proud to bring many parents together through events and our fabulous crafty coffee mornings! We welcome parents every Monday afternoon in the canteen at 1.45pm - it really is a wonderful group, where you can come and meet new friends and form lasting relationships with other parents. Craft takes place and lots of tea and biscuits flow during our open door sessions where you can also chat with Miss Cavanna. This term we are working on ideas to promote positivity for both our children and ourselves - ways to share learning at home and we encourage sharing ideas, it really is great fun! If your shy or maybe feel your English isn't great don't worry- you'll be made to feel most welcome. I want to share with you some quotes from a few of our parents so far
"Before I started to come to crafty coffee mornings I felt very alone in the playground- now I have so many friends and my children do too"
"I've learnt new ways to interact with my child through craft- we have such fun"
"We as parents are very lucky to have such opportunities at Ellacombe Academy with the support from all the teachers & staff to jointly help our children develop and grow"
Why not come along, see what we do and how easy it is to come be part of something special. I personally look forward to welcoming you.

Do you shop online? If you do, then please read on! You have the opportunity to fundraise whilst shopping online at no extra, hassle, cost or fuss. How? It’s easy and simple.
If you log onto the website: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ellacombe-academy-ptfa/?t=PTA-UK-lo&v=a&=, you can start raising money.
It’s easy to do. Instead of going straight to your chosen online retailer, log onto the easy fundraising website and then search for the retailer you want. You then shop as normal. The website logs that you have used the sight and they donate a % to the school. For example, your weekly shop online might raise 40 pence. However, lots of 40 pence contributions soon add up. Some schools raise thousands - it really is that easy. You can then get all of your family members to join in too! So, next time you shop, go through the easy fundraising website: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/ellacombe-academy-ptfa/?t=PTA-UK-lo&v=a&= and start raising money.
